Job Purpose

Responsible for inspection and quality verification of New Product Development (NPD) and First Article Inspection (FAI) components to ensure compliance with customer drawings, specifications, GD&T; requirements, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform NPD and FAI inspection as per approved drawings, specifications, and inspection plans.
- Review engineering drawings, GD&T;, dimensional tolerances, material specifications, and customer requirements.
- Conduct dimensional inspection using Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, thread gauges, CMM, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of inspection instruments, their applications, and measurement techniques.
- Prepare and verify FAI/FAIR reports and dimensional inspection reports.
- Ensure traceability of components, raw materials, inspection results, and drawing revision levels.
- Identify and document dimensional, visual, and workmanship deviations during NPD/FAI inspection.
- Verify heat treatment and surface treatment requirements and review relevant inspection/test reports.
- Perform inspection and verification of welded components and have basic knowledge of welding processes, weld defects, and visual inspection requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, NPD, Tool Room, Welding, and Quality teams to resolve inspection issues.
- Verify process changes, drawing revisions, heat treatment/surface treatment requirements, and customer-specific requirements.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action for identified defects.
- Maintain inspection records, calibration status,



and quality documentation.
- Participate in customer inspections and provide required inspection documents.
- Ensure compliance with company QA/QC procedures and applicable quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement activities to reduce rejection and improve first-time-right performance.

Required Skills & Knowledge

- 2–3 years of experience in NPD, FAI, or manufacturing quality inspection.
- Good knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Solid knowledge of dimensional inspection methods and precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, thread gauges, dial gauges, and other inspection instruments.
- Basic knowledge of CMM inspection and measurement techniques is preferred.
- Knowledge of FAI/FAIR documentation and dimensional inspection reports.
- Basic knowledge of heat treatment and surface treatment processes and inspection requirements.
- Basic knowledge of welding processes, weld defects, and weld inspection.
- Good understanding of CNC machining processes and manufacturing practices.
- Ability to identify dimensional, visual, welding, surface finish, and workmanship defects.
- Good documentation, reporting, coordination, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in CNC machining, precision components, valve manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, welding, heat treatment, surface treatment, or general engineering industries will be an advantage.

Qualification

Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
