O&M; Supervisor – Wastewater Treatment PlantRoles & Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations

- Supervise day-to-day operation of the wastewater treatment plant.
- Ensure all treatment units operate safely and efficiently.
- Monitor equipment such as pumps, blowers, agitators, clarifiers, filters, dosing systems, and dewatering equipment.
- Maintain required process parameters and ensure treated-water quality meets applicable standards.
- Monitor plant flow, tank levels, DO, pH, MLSS, sludge levels, and other relevant parameters.

2. Operation & Process Control

- Ensure proper operation of biological and physical/chemical treatment processes.
- Check chemical dosing and adjust dosing rates as required based on process conditions.
- Monitor sludge generation, return sludge, waste sludge, and sludge dewatering operations.
- Identify process abnormalities such as foaming, bulking, odor, poor settling, high turbidity, or abnormal discharge and take corrective action.
- Coordinate laboratory testing and review analysis results for process optimization.

3. Equipment & Maintenance

- Conduct routine inspection of pumps, motors, blowers, valves, pipelines, electrical panels, and other equipment.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with the maintenance team.
- Report equipment failures and follow up until corrective action is completed.
- Ensure proper lubrication, cleaning, and maintenance schedules are followed.
- Maintain equipment logbooks and maintenance records.

4. Team Supervision

- Supervise operators, technicians, and plant workers.
- Allocate daily duties and shifts to operating staff.
- Ensure operators follow SOPs and safety procedures.
- Train staff on plant operation, equipment handling, emergency procedures, and housekeeping.
- Monitor staff attendance, discipline,



and work performance.

5. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and environmental requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the plant.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by all personnel.
- Handle chemicals safely and ensure proper storage and labeling.
- Maintain emergency preparedness for chemical spills, equipment failures, overflow, and other plant emergencies.

6. Records & Reporting

- Maintain daily plant operation and shift records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly O&M; reports.
- Record water flow, power consumption, chemical consumption, sludge generation, and equipment operating hours.
- Maintain records of laboratory results and treated-water quality.
- Report operational issues and plant performance to the O&M; Manager/Plant Head.

7. Housekeeping & Plant Maintenance

- Ensure cleanliness of treatment units, equipment areas, control rooms, chemical rooms, and surrounding areas.
- Prevent accumulation of sludge, waste, and stagnant water.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of screenings, grit, sludge, and other waste materials.

8. Emergency & Troubleshooting

- Respond promptly to plant breakdowns, abnormal process conditions, power failures, overflow, and other emergencies.
- Coordinate with maintenance, electrical, laboratory, and management teams during emergencies.
- Identify the root cause of operational problems and implement corrective actions.

Key Responsibility:
The O&M; Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe, continuous, productive, and compliant operation of the wastewater treatment plant, while maintaining treated-water quality, equipment reliability, proper documentation, and effective supervision of the operating team.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
