Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced M&A; professional to support and execute mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and investments involving medical colleges, teaching hospitals, diagnostic centres, and other healthcare assets.
The role will involve identifying potential opportunities, evaluating financial and operational feasibility, conducting due diligence, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, supporting negotiations, and assisting with transaction closure and post-acquisition integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities involving medical colleges, hospitals, and healthcare institutions.
- Conduct preliminary assessment of target institutions, including financial, operational, academic, and regulatory aspects.
- Perform financial analysis, valuation, and feasibility studies of potential transactions.
- Review financial statements, revenue models, profitability, assets, liabilities, and outstanding obligations.
- Coordinate financial, legal, tax, commercial, operational, and regulatory due diligence.
- Evaluate medical college-specific factors such as:
- Number of MBBS/PG seats
- Student intake and occupancy
- Hospital bed strength
- Patient volumes and clinical operations
- Faculty strength and qualification
- Infrastructure and academic facilities
- Accreditation and regulatory status
- Existing loans, liabilities, and contractual obligations
- Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams regarding applicable approvals and compliance requirements.
- Prepare investment proposals, financial models, valuation reports, presentations, and management notes.
- Support negotiations with promoters, trustees, management teams, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing transaction documents such as term sheets, LOIs, MOUs, and other relevant agreements.
- Track transaction timelines and coordinate with consultants, lawyers, auditors, financial advisors, and regulatory teams.
- Support management in evaluating transaction risks, synergies, returns, and post-acquisition strategy.
- Assist with post-acquisition integration of the medical college/hospital, including financial, operational, academic, and administrative processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial, academic, operational, and transaction-related information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- MBA Finance or equivalent qualification preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in M&A;, investment banking, corporate finance, transaction advisory, healthcare consulting, private equity,
or business development.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis, valuation, and financial modelling.
- Solid Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Good understanding of financial statements and healthcare business models.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience working with medical colleges, hospitals, healthcare groups, diagnostic chains, or healthcare investments will be an advantage.
Knowledge of the regulatory and compliance environment applicable to medical education and healthcare institutions in India is preferred.
