Job Description:
The Senior Officer - CAT Axis will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Claim Assessment Team (CAT) to ensure efficient processing and settlement of claims. The role involves evaluating claims to determine their legitimacy, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The Senior Officer will also handle escalated claims, provide guidance to junior staff, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the Claim Assessment Team, ensuring timely and accurate claim processing.
- Evaluate and analyze complex claims, conducting investigations when necessary.
- Collaborate with underwriting, sales, and customer service teams to resolve claims-related issues.
- Provide training and support to junior staff members on claim assessment procedures and best practices.
- Review and approve significant claim payments, ensuring alignment with company policies.
- Monitor and report on team performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to claims management.
- Develop and implement process enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the claims assessment function.
Skills and Tools Required:
- Solid analytical skills with attention to detail for evaluating claims.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of insurance policies, claims processing, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in using claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of claim assessors.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage priorities and deadlines.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in claims processing or a related area in the insurance industry.
- Relevant certifications in insurance or claims management will be an advantage.
