Maintain accurate perpetual inventory records for pharmaceutical products, raw materials, and packaging supplies held in the warehouse.
- Reconcile physical inventory counts (cycle counts and full physical inventories) against system records; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Record and monitor inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, returns, write-offs, and disposals, inaccordance with company policy.
- Calculate and post inventory valuation adjustments, including standard cost variances, obsolescence, and expiry related write-downs.
- Track and account for slow-moving, near-expiry, and expired pharmaceutical stock in line with regulatory and quality requirements.
- Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses for management and external audit review.
- Monitor landed costs, freight, duties, and handling charges to ensure accurate product costing.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and warehouse operating expenses.
- Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and internal controls governing pharmaceutical inventory.
- Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, procurement, and quality assurance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and variance explanations.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to strengthen inventory controls and reduce shrinkage or loss.
- Maintain documentation supporting inventory transactions in compliance with regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
- Prepare periodic reports on inventory levels, aging, turnover, and cost variances for finance and operations leadership.Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally including inventory or cost accounting in a warehouse, distribution, or
- manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of GMP/GDP requirements and pharmaceutical inventory controls is a plus.
- CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is an advantage but not required.
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency with Tally ERP/inventory management systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and reconciliation modeling.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when handling regulated inventory records.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve variances.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with warehouse and operations teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial data.
- Work Environment
- This role is based primarily in warehouse facility, with regular time spent on the warehouse floor to observe inventory
- processes, participate in cycle counts, and coordinate with operations staff. Standard safety and quality protocols
- applicable to pharmaceutical storage areas must be followed at all times.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods while conducting inventory counts in the warehouse.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally when handling samples or documentation.
- Comfortable working in temperature-controlled or cold-chain storage areas as needed for inventory verification
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹650,000.00 per year
