- Job Title: Department Manager - Fashion Apparel
- Location: Pantaloons, GE Road, in front of Anupam Garden
- Reporting To: Store Manager

Job Purpose

The Department Manager is responsible for driving sales, profitability, customer experience, and team performance within the assigned fashion apparel department. The role requires solid leadership capabilities, commercial acumen, and hands-on operational management to achieve weekly and monthly business targets while ensuring excellent store standards.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Performance

- Drive departmental sales to achieve weekly, monthly, and annual targets.
- Monitor and analyze sales trends, conversion, ASP, UPT, and category performance.
- Develop and execute action plans to close sales gaps and maximize business opportunities.
- Ensure achievement of revenue, productivity, and profitability goals.
- Manage markdowns, promotions, and seasonal launches effectively.

Team Leadership & People Management

- Lead, motivate, coach, and develop a team of Sales Associates and Team Leaders.
- Conduct regular team briefings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
- Set clear performance expectations and monitor individual productivity.
- Drive a high-performance culture focused on customer service and target achievement.
- Manage rostering, attendance, and manpower utilization effectively.

Customer Experience

- Deliver exceptional customer service standards across the department.
- Ensure customer complaints and escalations are resolved promptly.
- Build customer loyalty through personalized selling and service excellence.
- Drive customer engagement initiatives and repeat business.

Merchandise & Inventory Management

- Ensure optimum stock availability and effective inventory control.
- Monitor stock movement, sell-through, and replenishment requirements.
- Minimize shrinkage, stock loss, and inventory variances.




- Ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained as per brand guidelines.

Operations & Compliance

- Maintain store hygiene, safety, and operational standards.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, audit requirements, and company policies.
- Monitor billing efficiency and departmental processes.
- Support store events, promotions, and special initiatives.

Desired Candidate ProfileEducational Qualification

- Graduate in any discipline. MBA/Retail Management preferred.

Experience

- 4-8 years of experience in Fashion Apparel Retail.
- Minimum 2 years of team handling experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in large-format retail stores, lifestyle, fashion, or apparel brands preferred.
