About the Role

We are looking for a Research Analyst / Associate – Polymer Price Assessment to track, collect, validate, and analyse market prices and developments across the polymer value chain. The role involves regular interaction with industry stakeholders and contributes to accurate price assessments, market intelligence, and actionable industry insights across key polymer segments.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Collect and validate daily price information across key polymer segments including PET, HDPE, PP, LDPE, LLDPE, PVC, and other polymers.
- Track market movements, spot deals, bids/offers, producer announcements, price revisions, and import/export activity across domestic and international markets.
- Monitor demand trends across key end-use industries such as packaging, FMCG, beverages, textiles, automotive, construction, and consumer goods.
- Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers, converters, traders, distributors, processors, importers, exporters, and end-users.
- Expand the network of reliable market participants across India and global polymer markets.
- Identify and onboard new contributors to strengthen product-wise and regional market coverage.
- Prepare daily price sheets, market summaries, price trends, and market updates.
- Analyse pricing trends and key demand-supply factors impacting polymer markets.
- Track upstream and feedstock factors including crude oil, naphtha, ethylene, propylene, PTA,



and MEG.
- Maintain accurate databases of price providers, price logs, verification records, and historical market data.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly price assessments, market reports, analytical articles, presentations, and sector briefs.
- Support the development of price benchmarks, methodologies, and market commentary.
- Respond to internal and client queries with accurate, data-backed market insights.

Skills Required

- Strong research, analytical, and data interpretation skills.

- Ability to conduct primary research and gather information from market participants.
- Strong understanding of market trends, demand-supply dynamics, and price movements.

- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple data points, trackers, and deliverables within deadlines.
- Prior exposure to polymers, petrochemicals, plastics, packaging, commodities, or market research is preferred.

Preferred Experience

- 0–5 years of relevant experience in polymers, petrochemicals, plastics, packaging, commodities, market research, procurement, sourcing, B2B sales, trading, or related fields.
- Freshers with a relevant educational background and solid interest in commodity markets, market research, and industry intelligence may also apply.
- Experience in primary research and stakeholder interaction with manufacturers, converters, traders, distributors, processors, importers, or exporters will be an advantage.
- Experience in collecting, validating, and analysing pricing data and preparing market reports is preferred.
- Understanding of the polymer value chain, pricing mechanisms, feedstock linkages, and market dynamics will be an added advantage.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Petrochemicals, or a related field.
