About the Role

The DevOps Engineer with cloud automation knowledge and experience will be responsible for maintaining Cloud Customer Infrastructure availability and uptime, ensuring customers experience the performance and throughput of the Cloud Service we manage.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of cloud operations — responding to incidents, driving proactive improvements, and collaborating with global teams to deliver reliable, high-performing cloud environments. You'll work with cutting-edge tools including AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Datadog to ensure our cloud infrastructure operates at peak performance while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

- Manage day-to-day operations of Cloud production, pre-production, and other environment infrastructure; ensure systems availability, performance, capacity, and continuity through proper response to incidents, events, and problems reported by customers and Datadog monitoring and observability tools.
- Participate in on-call rotation including nights and weekends; monitor Slack channels, system-generated alerts, and dashboards and take necessary action to resolve requests within defined SLAs; support off-hour work and accommodate overlapping shifts with other regional teams as needed.
- Strictly follow Change Management, security compliance, and Incident Management procedures to adhere to corporate and Cloud Operations processes and regulations; comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies including Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy.
- Analyze observability data and perform proactive actions to improve stability and performance of cloud environments; perform periodic checks and tasks including testing monitors, backups, and business continuity (BR/DR) procedures using Datadog and AWS CloudWatch.
- Perform Cloud environment stack creations, upgrades, Cloud deployments, and support tasks using Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and Jenkins; follow existing Cloud Operations procedures including playbooks, runbooks, and guides, and contribute to improving documentation.
- Communicate and collaborate with Global Cloud Operations, Product Development, and Engineering teams using Git and Jenkins; effectively perform assigned tasks and projects and participate in internal initiatives to improve Cloud Operations service delivery.

2. Proven experience with DevOps and release management tools including Terraform, Git, Ansible, Packer, and Jenkins, with proficiency in scripting tools such as Linux Shell Scripting and Python for automating operational tasks, deployment workflows, and cloud environment management.
3. Experience building and managing Kubernetes cluster environments, fine-tuning performance, and supporting microservices hosted on Kubernetes clusters in production-grade, high-availability cloud environments.
4. Experience with monitoring and observability systems, preferably Datadog, and databases at a system administrator level; demonstrated ability to analyze observability data and perform proactive actions to improve stability and performance of cloud environments.
5. Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional and globally distributed teams; fast learner, highly organized, and experienced in demonstrating focus to complete the highest priorities within defined SLAs and Change Management procedures.

What We'd Like to See

1. Knowledge and experience managing Java or similar web application environments, including deployment, configuration, and performance tuning of enterprise-grade application stacks in cloud and containerized environments.
