Position Summary
The Trainer is responsible for performing all training-related duties, including pre-class preparation, curriculum delivery, learner assessment, and post-training follow-up activities.
This role requires delivering training across multiple subjects, systems, learner groups, and formats, including classroom, virtual, one-on-one, and on-the-job training. The Trainer will be responsible for creating an engaging and impactful learning experience while providing ongoing support to associates beyond onboarding and new hire training.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with the Training Manager to conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and identify learning requirements across employee groups.
- Develop and update training content based on process changes, operational updates, and stakeholder inputs.
- Deliver training sessions for new hires and upskilling programs for existing associates across Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) functions, including:
- Medical Coding
- Charge Entry
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Payment Posting
- Other operational functions
- Utilize multiple training delivery methods, including classroom instruction, e-learning, virtual sessions, and on-the-job training.
- Assess trainee performance through evaluations, assessments, feedback sessions, and certification programs.
- Review training effectiveness and associate performance on a monthly basis.
- Conduct focus group discussions and monitor batch progress until operational productivity goals are achieved.
- Maintain training MIS reports and ensure proper documentation of all learning activities.
- Support bottom-quartile performance improvement initiatives through targeted training interventions.
- Conduct refresher training programs at defined intervals to reinforce learning and drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Preferred educational backgrounds include:
- B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing
- B. Pharm / M. Pharm
- Life Sciences
Experience
- 3+ years of overall skilled experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of training experience in:
- Medical Coding (Inpatient or Outpatient)
- Healthcare Operations
- Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding of the Revenue Cycle Management lifecycle and related terminology, including:
- ICD
- CPT
- HCPCS
- EOBs
- Medical Coding workflows
- Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.
Certifications
Preferred certifications include:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from AHIMA
Behavioral & Technical Skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to assess training effectiveness and continuously improve learning programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and coaching capabilities.
