Senior Manager – Cargo Operations

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Manager – Cargo Operations with strong shipping-line/carrier-side cargo operations experience and direct exposure to GCC port operations .

The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end cargo and vessel operations across multiple ports , including cargo execution, vessel planning, load/discharge coordination, transshipment, feeder/mainline operations, special cargo, operational KPIs, cost optimisation and stakeholder management.

Direct experience handling cargo/vessel operations across GCC ports is critical for this position.

Candidate Profile:

- 12–18 years of progressive experience in container shipping / shipping-line operations / maritime cargo operations.
- Minimum 4–5 years of direct Cargo Operations / Vessel Operations / Cargo Execution / Transshipment experience .
- Direct hands-on GCC operational exposure is essential , preferably involving ports across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and/or Bahrain.
- Solid understanding of shipping-line cargo execution , rather than only port/terminal-side cargo handling.
- Experience in mainline and feeder vessel operations, transshipment, cargo routing,



vessel allocation/utilisation and operational recovery .
- Exposure to DG/HAZ, OOG, Reefer and special cargo operations .
- Experience coordinating with terminals, port authorities, feeder operators, shipping agents, Customs and other operational partners .
- Strong understanding of operational KPIs such as vessel TAT, schedule reliability, cargo connection performance, rollover, terminal productivity and cost performance .
- Proven experience in team leadership, stakeholder management, vendor/service-provider management and operational cost optimisation .
- Familiarity with shipping/cargo systems, vessel planning tools, TOS/ERP and cargo tracking platforms .
- Excellent communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage high-pressure operational disruptions.

GCC Experience – What We Are Looking For

Candidates should ideally have personally managed operations involving ports such as:

Jebel Ali / Khor Fakkan / Fujairah / Abu Dhabi / Dammam / Jeddah / Jubail / Sohar / Salalah / Hamad / Bahrain / Kuwait , or comparable GCC locations.
