About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant Project & Financial Operations to manage accounting and financial operations for the company's Canadian and U.S. business operations.

The ideal candidate should have robust hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting, AP/AR, bookkeeping, project accounting, contract-based billing, reconciliations, multicurrency accounting and financial reporting.

The candidate will work closely with leadership, project managers, vendors, clients and external accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Accounting
Manage day-to-day accounting operations for Canadian and U.S. business activities.
Maintain accurate general ledger entries and financial records.
Manage AP, AR, expense coding and account reconciliations.
Perform CAD and USD bank and credit-card reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Maintain organized financial documentation and supporting schedules.
Develop and maintain financial templates, schedules and reporting tools.




Identify prospects to improve accounting processes, accuracy and efficiency.

Contract-Based Invoicing, AP & AR
Manage client invoicing based on contracts, SOWs, purchase orders and project timelines.
Prepare and issue accurate client invoices with supporting documentation.
Track deposits, progress payments, milestones and final reconciliations.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Coordinate vendor and contractor payments according to approved schedules.
Track billing requirements, payment deadlines and vendor commitments.
Identify and escalate billing, documentation or payment discrepancies.

Project Accounting & Reporting
Track client funding, project revenue, vendor costs and project-related expenses.
Code revenue, expenses and labour by client, project and cost category.
Maintain project budgets, payment registers and commitment schedules.
