Key Responsibilities
Diagnostic Imaging:
Perform a wide range of radiologic procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and other imaging modalities to assist in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.
Patient Care:
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being during radiologic procedures.
Explain procedures, position patients accurately, and address any concerns or questions.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor and maintain the quality of radiologic images, adjusting equipment settings as needed for optimal results.
Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate authority.
Radiation Safety:
Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure.
Monitor radiation doses and minimize risks.
Documentation:
Accurately record patient information, examination details, and imaging results in the EHR or other record-keeping systems.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on radiologic equipment, ensuring it is in positive working order.
Coordinate with the biomedical engineering department for repairs and calibrations.
Continuing Education:
Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and best practices.
Attend training, seminars, and workshops to maintain licensure and certifications.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare specialists to ensure diagnostic imaging aligns with patient care plans.
Compliance:
Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines governing radiologic procedures and patient confidentiality (e.g., HIPAA).
