As a Field Service Engineer, you are responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of complex technical equipment at customer sites. You serve as a key technical interface between the company and its customers, ensuring high system availability and long-term customer satisfaction. This role requires a hands-on problem-solver with solid technical know-how, the ability to work independently in the field, and the adaptability to handle diverse environments and customer needs.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
Perform the installation and commissioning of new equipment at customer sites.
Conduct functional testing and calibrations to ensure systems meet performance specifications.
Provide initial customer training during commissioning.
Maintenance & Repair
Carry out preventive maintenance as per the service schedule.
Diagnose and resolve technical faults (mechanical, electrical, software-related).
Replace or repair defective components and restore full system functionality.
Customer Support
Act as the first point of contact for technical issues in the field.
Provide remote and in office troubleshooting support and escalate complex issues when needed.
Offer guidance and technical advice to customers on the protected and productive use of equipment.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare detailed service reports, including findings, work performed, and parts used.
Document and communicate recurring issues or improvement opportunities to internal teams (e.g., R&D;, quality, technical support).
Compliance & Safety
Ensure all work complies with internal safety standards and customer-specific requirements.
Follow industry regulations and quality guidelines (especially in regulated sectors like pharma or semiconductors).
Continuous Improvement
Identify prospects to improve service quality, system performance, and customer satisfaction.
