Role & Responsibilities
Command daily bauxite extraction and haulage to feed group plants and alumina refineries with spec-grade ore
Architect and execute a 5-year pit sequencing plan to sustain 2.5 MT/annum bauxite delivery
Direct 1200+ workforce across 4 bauxite pits, enforcing drill-blast-load cycle discipline via shift supervisors
Oversee haul road operations, primary crushing, ROM washing, and grade blending (48% Al2O3 for alumina, 42% for steel flux)
Deploy and manage 40+ excavators and 60+ dumpers to hit monthly production targets through fuel and fleet management dashboards
Navigate DGMS compliance, forest clearances, IBM plan submissions, PESO explosive norms, and gram panchayat/community dynamics in active mining blocks
Negotiate mine lease extensions and royalty terms with the Chhattisgarh Mineral Department
Build weather-resilient operations with monsoon contingency ROM buffers to sustain 95% monthly dispatch targets
Own the mining P&L; (600+ Crore), driving EBITDA margin, stripping cost control, and opex discipline against NMDC benchmarks
Lead safety,
ESG reclamation, water harvesting, and CSR spend as per MoEF and district collector requirements
Report to the CEO on dispatch performance, cost variances, and recovery plans
Preferred Candidate Profile
B.Tech in Mining Engineering
M.Tech or MBA (Operations) preferred
1520 years of progressive experience in opencast mining, with at least 10 years in CXO/GM-level leadership
Prior senior leadership experience managing bauxite/coal blocks exceeding 1 MT/year
Robust Central India exposure Chhattisgarh or Odisha mining operations, with direct experience handling forest diversion and tribal/community regulations
Demonstrated ability to stabilize ROM supply through monsoons, lease transitions, and regulatory disruptions
Hands-on command of mine planning and fleet telematics tools (Surpac, Micromine or equivalent)
Proven leadership in contract-heavy, labor-intensive mining env
