Key Responsibilities of an OT Technician
Prepare the operation theatre before surgeries by cleaning and arranging equipment.
Sterilize surgical instruments and ensure infection control protocols are followed.
Check and maintain surgical equipment, machines, and supplies.
Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses during surgical procedures.
Arrange surgical instruments according to the type of surgery.
Help position and transfer patients safely before and after surgery.
Monitor the availability of surgical consumables and maintain inventory.
Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste according to hospital guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of instruments, equipment, and procedures.
Respond promptly to emergency surgeries and ensure the OT is always ready.
Inspect equipment for proper functioning and report any faults for repair.
Follow hospital safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times.
