A Staff Nurse provides direct patient care, supports doctors, and ensures patients’ safety, comfort, and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor patients’ health conditions (temperature, BP, pulse)
Administer medications and injections
Assist in daily activities like bathing, feeding, and mobility
Prepare patients for surgeries or procedures
Assist doctors during examinations and operations
Dress wounds and manage post-operative care
Record patient symptoms and progress
Maintain accurate medical records
Report any changes in patient condition to doctors
Respond quickly to medical emergencies
Provide first aid and life support when needed
Patient & Family Support
Educate patients about treatment and recovery
Provide emotional support to patients and families
Administrative Duties
Maintain patient files and nursing reports
Follow hospital policies and safety protocols
Manage medical equipment and supplies
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Nursing (GNM / B.Sc Nursing)
Registered with Nursing Council (like State Nursing Council in India)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred)
