Job Responsibilities:
Set and operate VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) machines for production.
Perform complete job setting according to engineering drawings.
Set cutting tools, tool offsets, work offsets, and machining parameters.
Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
Perform first-piece inspection and ensure required quality standards.
Select suitable cutting tools and machining parameters.
Make necessary tool and offset corrections during production.
Handle operations such as turning, facing, boring, grooving, drilling, and threading.
Check component dimensions using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, etc.
Monitor tool wear and replace tools when required.
Identify and troubleshoot basic machining and setting problems.
Ensure production targets and quality requirements are achieved.
Coordinate with Quality and Production teams.
Maintain production and quality records.
Follow safety procedures and maintain proper housekeeping.
Required Skills:
Strong experience in VTL machine setting.
Valuable knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens CNC controls preferred.
Knowledge of cutting tools, offsets, and machining parameters.
Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings.
Valuable knowledge of tolerances and dimensional inspection.
Knowledge of GD&T; is an added advantage.
Ability to independently handle job setting and troubleshooting.
Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Experience: 7–15 years of relevant VTL Setter experience.
