Responsibilities of a Electrical Engineer - Fire Alarm Systems

Fire alarm commissioning is a critical stage to ensure that the entire fire detection and alarm system operates safely, accurately, and in compliance with fire safety standards before handover. As a Commissioning Engineer, the role involves verifying installation, testing system performance, and ensuring integration with other safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan & Review System Design Review fire alarm drawings, specifications, and cause & effect matrix before commissioning activities.
Verify Installation Ensure smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, sounders, and control panels are installed correctly and properly labeled.
Conduct Functional Testing Test all field devices such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, alarm bells, and strobes to confirm proper operation.
Check System Integration Verify interface with other systems like HVAC shutdown, elevator recall, access control, and emergency lighting.
Program & Configure Control Panel Configure the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP)



including device addressing and system logic.
Perform Alarm Activation Tests Confirm alarm response, sound levels, indication at the control panel, and annunciator panels.
Documentation & Reporting Prepare commissioning reports, testing records, and compliance documentation.
Training & System Handover Train the client or facility team on system operation, maintenance, and emergency procedures.
Proper commissioning ensures reliable fire detection, quick emergency response, and life safety protection.

Qualification:Diploma or degree in Electrical

Experience:1 to 4 year experience in fire protection system

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
