Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.
Set up CNC machines (turning, milling, machining centers, etc.).
Install and align tools, fixtures, jigs, and workpieces.
Load or verify CNC programs and make basic program offsets if required.
Set tool offsets and work offsets.
Perform first-off inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and tolerances.
Troubleshoot setup issues and minimize machine downtime.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.
Document setup details and production records.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of CNC machines and machining processes.
Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers,
height gauges, dial indicators, etc.).
Understanding of tooling, cutting parameters, and materials.
Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code (often required).
Robust attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Tool & Die, Machinist, or a related field (requirements vary by employer).
Experience with CNC milling or turning machines.
Familiarity with quality inspection techniques.
