The Mathematics Teacher (HL & SL) for the Diploma Programme (DP) will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in both Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) mathematics courses. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the IB curriculum, strong pedagogical skills, and a passion for fostering a positive learning setting. This role requires a commitment to developing students' critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a love for mathematics.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction and Curriculum Delivery:
Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons for HL and SL mathematics courses in the IB Diploma Programme.
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the IB curriculum and educational standards.
Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Design and administer formative and summative assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student achievements and progress.
Student Support and Engagement:
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom setting that encourages student participation and engagement.
Provide individual support and guidance to students to help them achieve their academic goals.
Organize and facilitate extracurricular activities related to mathematics, such as math clubs or competitions.
Collaboration and Career development:
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Participate in department meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives.
