The role spans the full engineering lifecycle—from conceptual design and modelling through simulation, validation, implementation, and commissioning—ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical solutions across multiple projects.
This position requires deep expertise in HVDC Control & Protection systems, proven leadership, and the ability to drive engineering strategy, process improvement, and consistent technical quality across multi-disciplinary, international teams. A key focus is building organisational capability, strengthening engineering processes, and unifying engineering centres worldwide around common standards and best practices. Success depends on proactive communication, robust collaboration, and fostering a global “one-team” culture.
Key responsibilities include leadership development, engineering governance, technical oversight,



lessons-learned implementation, and adherence to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) principles.

Oversee day-to-day departmental operations, ensuring consistent design practices, adherence to global processes, and delivery of technical solutions that meet project and tender objectives.

Understanding of advanced modelling and simulation of HVDC Control & Protection systems, including:
Electromagnetic transient studies (PSCAD, EMTP-RV)
Control and protection system modelling (MATLAB/Simulink)
Network conversion, modelling, tuning, and verification (PSSE, PSCAD, RSCAD)
Full plant/system modelling with end-to-end validation across multiple platforms
