Responsibilities:
Assume accountability for the health and improvement of the search infrastructure
Ability to profile, analyze, and clearly identify problem areas of Java-based applications using APM tools
Drive best practices for system design, capacity planning, and integration for search and big data solutions
Creative thinker who can investigate multiple paths in the hunt for root cause of an urgent issue
Lead support of business critical outages related to search, explicit the path to resolution, and own the steps for prevention
Participate in a level-3 on-call rotation in support of our 24x7 Production Solr environments
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues

Qualifications:




Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
Experience supporting a customer-facing, always-up production workplace
3+ Years of proven Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience
3+ Years of proven experience with Solr index/search and Tomcat.
Demonstrated experience with automated provisioning and configuration management using Puppet or Chef
Demonstrated experience in support, tuning, and hardening of the Linux OS.
Demonstrated ability to script via Shell, Python, or Perl. Java programming experience a plus.
RHCSA certification a plus.
