Works closely with project engineers.
Produces plan & profile drawings, perspective drawings, overlays, base drawings, map and illustrations, using AutoCAD. Prepares quantities and cost estimates.
May be expected to design portions of a project.
Makes calculations, using engineering formulas & skills.
Use catalogs to specify items where original design is not required.
Instructs drafters how to reduce designs into completed drawings.
Performs research and writes reports.
Perform research and writes opinions.
Use computer to run standard programs in order to solve engineering problems
May write special programs to resolve unusual engineering problems.
Must be familiar with computer-aided design.
