Education/ Qualification
Mandatory 10 + years of experience in US Taxation and tax client management.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/ finance and Qualified MBA Finance (CPA or EA Certification is an added advantage)
Relevant Experience
Relevant experience in US Taxation with valuable knowledge on review of Corporate Tax – Federal and State returns is mandatory. Experienced mainly of Form 1120, 1065, International filings and state tax forms.
Proficiency in Tax concepts like Tax Depreciation, Tax Basis Calculations, W8/ W9 review, understanding Organisational charts, PFIC statements and K1 reviews.
Hands on experience on One Source and Gosystems generated reports and returns.
Familiarity with Tax research and ability to respond for Tax notices.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead, review and provide technical oversight on U.S. tax engagements across Corporate, Partnerships. Real Estate and International Tax Returns.
Knowledge of REIT filings and REIT concepts, FATCA/ CRS filing obligations,
Financial Services and Asset Management sector including Private Equity, Hedge Funds, and Real Estate Investment, and understanding PFIC Statements would be a plus.
Very valuable knowledge and ability to review Partnership and Corporate Tax returns mainly Form 1120 and 1065 is a must.
Manage workflow, delegate and review tasks, and ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.
Good knowledge of K1s and understanding of M1 calculations and ability to read tax reports from tax software.
Provide both leadership (mentoring and coaching) and supervision to Tax Seniors and Staff.
Ability to contact tax agencies and obtain tax information, resolve issues, and reconcile notices and assist with responding to federal and state tax compliance notices.
Assist with technical research supporting tax positions taken in tax filings, including drafting written memorandums.
