Job Description

Overview:
The Emergency Medical Officer plays a critical role in providing urgent medical care to patients who arrive at the emergency department. They are responsible for assessing and stabilizing patients, providing initial treatment, and coordinating with medical teams to ensure timely and effective care. The role requires quick thinking, solid decision-making abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure in a rapid-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:




Assess and prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition
Stabilize and provide initial treatment to patients in critical condition
Coordinate with medical teams to ensure timely and appropriate care for patients
Perform medical procedures such as intubation, CPR, and administering medications
Order and interpret diagnostic tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients
Document patient medical history, current condition, and treatment provided
Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other medical staff
Adhere to clinical protocols and procedures to maintain high standards of care
Participate in training and educational programs for continuous career development
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the emergency department
Manage emergency situations with composure and efficiency
