Responsibilities
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
Knowledge of highway design, drainage strategy and design, flood risk assessment and management, utility design and planning as well as knowledge of the Development Industry.
An appreciation of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics and building structures is desirable as well as an understanding of construction design stages and procedures.
The ability to produce with supervision infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and construction drawings.
Knowledge of the relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance,



Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, Local Authority Design Guidance and are well versed in the preparation of drawings for contract documentation and technical approvals.
Written and spoken communication skills and are aware of current technical and planning guidance on climate change and sustainability.
The ability to use relevant software including Info Drainage, Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or PDS.

Experience of liaison with clients, co-specialists and design teams, and competence in liaising with highway, water, statutory and local authorities to

Qualifications
Bachelor's or post-graduate degree in Civil Engineering with 4 years post-graduate experience with an Engineering consultancy .
Experience with all aspects of highway / freeway design (e.g. alignments, geometrics, staging, utilities, roadside safety, Contract specifications/ documents, Quantities,
