Working within the Resilience Scrum Team, you will be responsible for upgrading and maintaining a large estate of legacy Java applications and integration services, helping improve the security, resilience, and long-term sustainability of the platform. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will continue to contribute technically whilst providing oversight and guidance to a team of three Java Developers.
Day to day, you will focus on identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities across applications, upgrading libraries and dependencies, and addressing code-level vulnerabilities identified through security tooling. You will work closely with Security, Architecture, Product, and DevOps teams to improve remediation processes, reduce the time taken to meet security SLAs, and support strategic security initiatives across the application estate.
Must Haves
8+ years of commercial Java development experience (Java 11+, Spring, and Spring Boot)
Robust experience upgrading dependencies and remediating application security vulnerabilities
Experience implementing or supporting Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions
Exposure to secrets management and secure credential handling
Familiarity with Spring Security Tooling
Experience understanding security findings and driving remediation activities
Strong experience working with Oracle Databases
Solid SQL skills and database troubleshooting experience
Experience upgrading and supporting legacy Java applications
Experience supporting Java and Spring version upgrades
Experience with Git/GitLab repositories and source control
Robust understanding of enterprise application integrations and distributed systems
