VMC Programmer cum Setter / Senior CNC Programmer Setter
Experience
5 to 10 years of experience in VMC programming, machine setting, and machining operations.
Experience in precision machining, tool room, automotive, aerospace, construction equipment, or heavy engineering industries preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Create and optimize CNC programs for VMC machines using CAM software.
Perform complete machine setting including:
Fixture mounting
Tool setting
Offset setting
Job alignment
Prove-out activities
Independently handle first-piece development and production support.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and 3D models.
Select cutting tools, inserts, holders, and machining parameters.
Optimize cycle time and improve machining efficiency.
Troubleshoot programming and machining issues on the shop floor.
Coordinate with quality, production, and maintenance teams.
Ensure dimensional accuracy and process stability.
Maintain tooling and program records.
GD&T; interpretation
Process optimization
Ability to independently run and stabilize recent jobs.
Knowledge of 3-axis and 4-axis machining preferred.
Software Knowledge
Experience in any of the following:
Mastercam
NX CAM
SolidCAM
Machine Handling
Hands-on experience with:
3-axis / 4-axis VMC machines
Hydraulic & pneumatic fixtures
Tool presetting systems
Production machining
Educational Qualification
Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical Engineering
VMC/CNC Programming certification preferred
