Role & responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the general accounting function, including the management and supervision of a team of Assistants.
Ensure in a time-bound manner, the accuracy and integrity of financial records, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, hard closure.
Practical hands-on experience in Tax compliances viz TDS; GST; PF, PT, etc. including returns and reconciliations; Advance tax computation; Payroll preparation and accounting.
Preparation of Financials- P&L;, Balance sheet, Cash flow (monthly/periodical); Finalization of accounts and MIS reporting; Other financial reports in a time-bound manner.
Conduct regular financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights into management for decision-making purposes.
Ensure SOPs, Tax regulatory software, accounting policies and procedures are fully complied with.
Implement process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the general accounting function.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure fulfilment of departmental targets.
Manage the annual external audit process,
provide necessary documentation, and address any audit findings or recommendations.
Stay current with accounting regulations and changes in accounting standards; assess the impact on the company's financial reporting and implement necessary updates.
Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and career development opportunities to foster a high-performance culture
Preferred candidate profile
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills; Robust leadership abilities with a result oriented mindset.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Sound knowledge of financial accounting principles, reporting and internal controls.
Experience in a multi-discipline and multi-entity organizational set up.
Proven experience in financial analysis and interpretation of financial data.
Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
Solid knowledge of MS Office applications; Tax domain software, web portals.
Experience in the Trading companies Accounting.
