Key Responsibilities
Firmware Architecture & Development
Design, develop, and maintain firmware for enterprise HDD involving SAS/SATA, ZAC/ZBC
Define firmware architecture, software frameworks, and module interfaces for scalable storage solutions
Firmware/Software development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, validation, and release.
Implement algorithms and/or improve implementations and take part in their verification and production.
Storage Technology Leadership
Drive development of advanced storage features including:
Middleware/Flash Translation Layer (FTL)
Garbage Collection
Error Recovery
Power-Fail Management
Storage Protocol (SATA, SAS, NVMe) knowhow
Collaborate on future storage technologies and product roadmaps.
Performance & Reliability Optimization
Analyze and optimize firmware performance, latency, throughput, and resource utilization.
Lead root cause analysis of field issues and customer escalations.
Develop diagnostic, telemetry, and debug capabilities.
Develop simulation architecture to validate current performance algorithms.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to firmware engineers.
Participate in architecture reviews and technical decision-making.
Engage with customers and field teams to understand requirements and resolve complex issues.
