Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Collection, receipt, labeling, and preservation of environmental samples.
Chemical analysis of Water, Wastewater, Soil, Air, Stack Emission, Hazardous Waste, and other environmental samples.
Operation, calibration, verification, and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments.
Preparation of reagents, standards, calibration solutions, and quality control samples.
Performing analysis using instruments such as:
UV-Visible Spectrophotometer
Flame Photometer
BOD Incubator
COD Digester
DO Meter
pH Meter
Conductivity Meter
Turbidity Meter
TDS Meter
Analytical Balance
Muffle Furnace
Hot Air Oven
GC, HPLC, ICP-OES/AAS (where applicable)
Recording, calculation, validation, and reporting of analytical results.

Ensuring compliance with NABL ISO/IEC 17025 quality management requirements.
Maintaining laboratory records, worksheets, logbooks, and test reports.




Participating in Internal Quality Control (IQC), Proficiency Testing (PT), and Inter-Laboratory Comparison (ILC) programs.
Monitoring laboratory quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Ensuring compliance with MoEF&CC;, CPCB, SPCB, and other regulatory guidelines.
Assisting in internal audits, management reviews, and accreditation activities.
Implementing Corrective Actions (CA) and Preventive Actions (PA).
Maintaining laboratory safety, chemical storage, and waste disposal practices.
Inventory management of chemicals, reagents, glassware, and consumables.
Training laboratory staff and maintaining technical competency.

Supporting method development, validation, and uncertainty estimation where applicable
