The Sales Manager is responsible for driving retail sales, achieving revenue targets, expanding market presence, managing distributor/dealer relationships and leading the retail sales team. The role focuses on increasing store productivity, ensuring excellent customer service, implementing sales strategies, and maximizing profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Drive revenue growth across retail stores and distribution channels.
Identify recent business opportunities and expand the customer base.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
Plan and implement promotional campaigns to increase footfall and sales.
Team Management
Lead, motivate, and mentor the retail sales team.
Set sales targets and KPIs for team members.
Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
Coordinate training programs to improve product knowledge and selling skills.
Ensure proper staffing and workforce planning.
Store Operations
Monitor store performance and productivity.
Ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained.
Coordinate with operations to ensure stock availability.
Minimize stock loss and improve inventory turnover.
Ensure compliance with company policies and SOPs.
Dealer Relationship Management
Build and maintain solid relationships with key dealers.
Resolve dealers’ complaints promptly and professionally.
Ensure high levels of dealer’s satisfaction and retention.
Develop dealer engagement initiatives to increase repeat business.
Sales Planning & Reporting
Prepare monthly sales forecasts and budgets.
Analyse sales performance and recommend improvement strategies.
Maintain accurate MIS reports and sales dashboards.
Present performance reports to senior management.
Monitor conversion rates, average bill value, and customer acquisition metrics.
