Role & responsibilities

The Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I;) is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and efficiency of all electrical and instrumentation systems across the cement plant. The role involves preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment, PLC/DCS systems, instrumentation, and process automation to ensure uninterrupted plant operations while maintaining compliance with safety and statutory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance
Plan, execute, and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
Ensure high availability and reliability of HT/LT electrical systems.
Maintain transformers, switchgears, motors, VFDs, MCCs, PCCs, DG sets, UPS, and capacitor banks.
Troubleshoot electrical faults and minimize equipment downtime.
Monitor electrical load distribution and power consumption.

Instrumentation & Automation
Maintain field instruments such as transmitters, pressure, temperature, level, and flow instruments.




Perform calibration of field instruments as per schedule.
Maintain PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, and process automation systems.
Diagnose and resolve instrumentation and automation-related issues.
Ensure accurate process measurements and control.

Plant Equipment Maintenance
Support maintenance of:
Crusher
Raw Mill
Kiln
Cement Mill
Packing Plant
Conveyors
Compressors
Captive Power Plant (if applicable)

Shutdown Planning
Prepare annual and monthly shutdown maintenance plans.
Coordinate with Mechanical, Production, and Planning departments.
Ensure shutdown jobs are completed safely within planned timelines.

Energy Management
Monitor specific power consumption.
Identify energy-saving prospects.
Implement initiatives for electrical efficiency improvement.
Assist in maintaining power factor and reducing electrical losses.

Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Electrical Safet
