The Mining Engineer is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the quarry, ensuring secure, effective, and cost-effective production while maintaining compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Operations Management
Plan, organize, and supervise daily quarry operations.
Ensure production targets are achieved within budget and schedule.
Monitor extraction, crushing, screening, and material dispatch activities.
Optimize productivity by improving operational efficiency.
Project Planning & Execution
Develop quarry production plans and schedules.
Coordinate project timelines and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Allocate manpower, machinery, and resources effectively.
Monitor project progress and prepare regular status reports.
Team Leadership
Lead and supervise engineers, supervisors, operators, drivers, and site workers.
Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance.
Conduct regular team meetings and provide operational guidance.
Train employees on safety procedures and operational best practices.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Maintain compliance with mining laws, government regulations, and company policies.
Investigate incidents and implement preventive measures.
Equipment & Asset Management
Monitor the performance and maintenance of quarry machinery and heavy equipment.
Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
Minimize equipment downtime through effective maintenance planning.
Ensure proper utilization of machinery and fuel management.
Quality Control
Ensure the quality of extracted materials meets project specifications.
Monitor grading, crushing, and screening processes.
