Job Summary

The RCI Certified Special Educator is responsible for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) by providing individualized educational interventions, collaborating with teachers and parents, and ensuring inclusive learning practices. The role focuses on enabling students to achieve their academic, social, emotional, and functional goals in accordance with the school's inclusive education policy and statutory requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Assessment & Support
Identify and assess students with learning disabilities, developmental delays, and other special educational needs.
Develop, implement, and regularly review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Conduct functional and educational assessments to monitor student progress.
Maintain confidential records of student assessments, interventions, and progress.

Instruction & Intervention
Provide individualized and small-group instructional support.
Adapt curriculum, teaching strategies, and assessment methods to meet diverse learning needs.




Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans.
Support students in developing academic, communication, social, behavioral, and life skills.

Inclusive Education
Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to implement inclusive teaching practices.
Recommend classroom accommodations and modifications.
Promote an inclusive and supportive learning workplace.
Facilitate the use of assistive technology and adaptive learning resources where appropriate.

Collaboration & Parent Engagement
Work closely with parents to discuss student progress and intervention strategies.
Coordinate with psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, counselors, and other specialists as required.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Provide guidance to teachers on supporting students with diverse learning needs.
