Role & responsibilities
Responsible for the detailed design, analysis, and review of all structural elements within the project. This includes elevated viaducts, underground station structures, depots, and associated auxiliary buildings.
Perform complex structural analysis and design calculations for various metro structures using relevant software and hand calculations. Structures include:
Elevated Viaducts (U-girders, I-girders, box girders)
Station structures (underground and elevated)
Depots, workshops, and maintenance buildings
Foundation systems (piles, raft foundations, etc.)
Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international structural design codes and standards and project-specific design criteria.
Prepare and oversee the production of detailed design reports, technical specifications, structural drawings, and tender documentation.
Collaborate closely with architects, geotechnical engineers, M&E; teams, track engineers, and signalling experts to ensure a fully integrated design solution.
Manage design interfaces effectively to avoid conflicts during construction.
Conduct reviews of in-house designs, third-party designs, and shop drawings to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
Provide technical expertise and support to the construction and execution teams during the construction phase, addressing design-related queries and field variations promptly.
Identify prospects for value engineering and design optimization to achieve cost savings and improve construction efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
Provide guidance and technical input to junior engineers and draftspersons within the design team.
Preferred candidate profile
Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 7 - 11 years of experience
Possess technical Know-how for ETABS, STAAD PRO
Should have knowledge of working on bridge/metro/viaduct/stations project
