Job Description for Scientist (Horticulture)

We are seeking a Horticulture Scientist to lead our creative horticulture initiatives, enhancing the cultivation and management of our diverse plant collections. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in plant science and horticultural practices to develop sustainable growing practices, optimize plant health, and drive efficiency within our operations.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement horticultural strategies to improve plant quality and yield while ensuring sustainable practices are followed.
- Oversee the daily operations of horticultural activities, including planting, maintenance, and harvesting.
- Conduct research on plant varieties and growing techniques to enhance productivity and sustainability.
- Manage a team of horticulturists, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate horticultural practices into broader organizational goals.




- Monitor plant health, disease management, and pest control measures to ensure optimal growth conditions.
- Prepare and manage budgets for horticultural projects, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.

Requirement:

- M.Sc. or Master's degree in Horticulture or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in horticultural management or a similar role, with a proven track record of successful project management.
- Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil science, and sustainable horticultural practices.
- Experience in landscape design and implementation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with greenhouse management and advanced horticultural technologies.
- Experience with environmental control systems and irrigation technology.
