Job Title: VMC Operator cum Programmer

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled VMC Operator cum Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to produce high-quality components with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up VMC machines by installing and aligning cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces as per job specifications
- Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software to ensure accurate machining operations
- Operate VMC machines to perform milling, drilling, tapping, and related processes with tight tolerances
- Monitor machine performance, identify issues, and carry out troubleshooting to minimize downtime
- Make necessary program and tooling adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
- Perform routine preventive maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn components
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges
- Ensure all components meet quality standards and technical drawings
- Maintain proper documentation of production and inspection reports
- Follow workplace safety guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs)





Required Qualifications

- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2–5 years of experience as a VMC Operator and Programmer
- Hands-on experience with CNC/VMC machines and CAM software
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T;

Key Skills

- CNC programming (G-code / M-code)
- VMC machine setup and operation
- Tooling knowledge and fixture setup
- Precision measurement and quality inspection
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Attention to detail and process discipline

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in sheet metal or precision machining industry
- Familiarity with Fanuc/Siemens controllers
- Knowledge of basic PLC and machine maintenance

Work Environment

- Manufacturing/shop floor setting
- Exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking processes
- PPE compliance required at all times
