We are looking for an experienced HR & Industrial Relations (IR) professional to manage factory HR operations with a strong focus on Industrial Relations, Labour Law Compliance, Factory Compliance, and Statutory Requirements. The role requires hands-on experience in dealing with factory workforce, maintaining statutory records, ensuring legal compliance, and partnering with plant leadership to create a disciplined and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Industrial Relations (IR)
- Manage day-to-day Industrial Relations activities and maintain a healthy work environment within the plant.
- Build solid relationships with workmen, supervisors, and plant leadership.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, domestic enquiries, and conflict resolution.
- Support negotiations and interactions with employee representatives/unions, wherever applicable.
Statutory & Labour Law Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labour legislations including:
- Factories Act
- Industrial Disputes Act
- Shops & Establishment Act (where applicable)
- Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act
- Minimum Wages Act
- Payment of Wages Act
- Payment of Bonus Act
- Payment of Gratuity Act
- Employees' Provident Fund (EPF)
- Employees' State Insurance (ESIC)
- Labour Welfare Fund and other applicable statutes.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Liaise with government authorities including Factory Inspector, Labour Department, PF, ESIC, and other statutory bodies.
Factory HR Operations
- Manage employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, and separation.
- Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and statutory registers as per legal requirements.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and maintenance of mandatory employment registers.
- Support attendance management, leave administration, and payroll inputs.
- Coordinate contractor compliance, labour licences, and statutory documentation.
HR Operations
- Support recruitment for plant and shop-floor positions.
- Assist in performance management, employee engagement, and welfare initiatives.
- Drive implementation of HR policies, SOPs, and disciplinary processes.
- Prepare HR MIS, compliance reports, and manpower reports for management.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 410 years of experience in Factory HR, Industrial Relations, and Labour Law Compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Factories Act, Industrial Relations, Labour Laws, Contract Labour Compliance, PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Bonus, and Wage-related legislations.
- Hands-on experience in maintaining statutory registers, labour records, and compliance documentation.
- Experience in handling labour inspections, statutory audits, and interactions with government authorities.
- Good understanding of contractor workforce management and statutory compliance.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRMS systems.
Preferred Background
Candidates from manufacturing, steel, engineering, metals, chemicals, cement, mining, automotive, or other industrial manufacturing plants will be preferred.
