Job Title: SQL Developer Application Support

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer – Application Support to join our production support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database development, SQL performance optimization, production support, incident management, troubleshooting application issues, and ensuring high availability of business-critical applications. The role requires close collaboration with development, infrastructure, and business teams to provide timely resolutions and continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Monitor and support production applications and databases in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, application issues, and database-related problems within defined SLAs.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance for high-volume transactional systems.
- Work closely with application development teams during deployments and production releases.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
- Support ETL processes, scheduled jobs, and batch processing.
- Monitor database health, performance, and storage utilization.
- Participate in release management, deployment activities, and change management processes.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, Infrastructure, and Business stakeholders.

Required Skills

Must Have

- 5–8 years of experience as a SQL Developer and Application Support Engineer.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.
- Advanced SQL programming (Complex Queries, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views).
- Query optimization and performance tuning.
- Production/Application Support experience.
- Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis.
- Database backup and recovery knowledge.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Good understanding of SDLC and ITIL processes.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, MCA, or related field.
- Relevant Microsoft SQL certifications are an added advantage.
