Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Strategic and Product Engineering Leadership
- Translate product portfolio priorities and business objectives into explicit engineering goals, investment themes, capacity plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with Product Management and Architecture to shape executable roadmaps that balance customer value, platform modernization, quality, security, and maintainability.
- Anticipate future product, scale, compliance, and operational needs, and influence engineering plans accordingly.
- Drive cross-functional alignment for major product portfolio initiatives, dependencies, risks, and delivery trade-offs.
- Portfolio Delivery and Governance
- Provide portfolio-level oversight across engineering teams supporting the product portfolio to ensure commitments are realistic, risks are visible, and delivery outcomes are predictable.
- Establish governance mechanisms for planning, execution reviews, release readiness, quality health, dependency management,



and stakeholder communication.
- Use engineering and product metrics to improve delivery predictability, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
- Support budget planning, capacity forecasting, hiring prioritization, and investment trade-off decisions across the product portfolio.
- Engineering Excellence and Operational Maturity
- Raise the engineering bar across architecture, secure SDLC, design reviews, testing strategy, CI/CD, observability, release quality, and production readiness.
- Drive improvements in reliability, performance, scalability, incident learning, vulnerability management, and customer-impacting defect reduction.
- Promote consistent engineering standards across teams while enabling Engineering Managers and technical leads to own team-level execution.
