Description
Applicant should have 8-12 years of experience on basic and detailed engineering design of Electrical works on combined cycle projects and substation projects. Has a valuable knowledge of Electrical Systems and Physical design, the principles, and practices of related technical areas and of coordinating with other technical disciplines. Candidate should have exposure to IEC, US, Euro or any other foreign codes/standards and middle east local practices.
Responsibilities
- Technical review of electrical equipment sizing, specifications, technical datasheets, technical bid evaluation and vendor documents reviews of various electrical equipment like GIS, Switchyard equipment, Power Transformer, Busduct, MV & LV switchgear, MCCs, power & distribution transformers, EDGs, DC systems / UPS, Cables, generator circuit breaker, bus duct, lighting fixtures etc.
- Technical review of SLDs, protection & metering diagrams, switchgear scheme drawings and logic diagrams, relay setting & protection coordination of the system, cable sizing etc.
- Review of electrical layouts like raceways,
lighting, grounding & lightning protection, Switchyard layouts etc.
- Working Knowledge of electrical system studies using ETAP software and conversant with short circuit, load flow, motor starting & voltage drop calculations.
- Participate in meetings with clients and contractors as on when needed.
- Maintain an awareness of technological advances and industry best practice.
Mandatory skills
- Possess good knowledge of international codes & standards and Industry practices focussing particularly on Middle East Markets.
- Experience in selection of electrical equipment.
- Interdisciplinary knowledge to coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, C&I;, Civil and Commissioning teams.
- Excellent Skill in oral and written communication, demonstrated skill in leadership.
