Job Title: Coordinator – Vision Centre

Project: Green Outreach for Primary Eye Care Services

Reporting to: Project Manager / Program Head

Position Summary:

The Coordinator – Vision Centre will play a key role in implementing and monitoring the Green Outreach for Primary Eye Care Services initiative. The position involves overseeing multiple Vision Centres to ensure efficient operations, quality service delivery, and integration of environmentally sustainable practices. The Coordinator will facilitate community engagement, strengthen referral linkages with the base hospital, and support achievement of project objectives in collaboration with Orbis and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Vision Centre Operations & Supervision

- Oversee daily functioning of the assigned Vision Centres and ensure smooth service delivery.
- Support Vision Technicians and Optometrists in managing patient care, referrals, and counselling.
- Ensure adherence to clinical, administrative, and environmental sustainability standards.
- Monitor inventory and support green practices in resource utilization (energy, waste management, paperless systems, etc.).

2. Program Implementation & Coordination

- Coordinate and support implementation of project activities as per the Green Outreach framework.
- Facilitate regular communication between Vision Centres, the base hospital, and the project office.
- Plan and execute community screening camps, outreach initiatives, and awareness events.
- Strengthen linkages with local health systems, schools, and community networks to expand access to eye care.

3. Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting

- Collect, compile, and validate Vision Centre data on patient services, referrals, spectacles, and surgeries.
- Maintain accurate records through digital tools or MIS platforms,



ensuring data quality and timely reporting.
- Contribute to progress reports, case studies, and documentation of success stories.
- Track and report on environmental performance indicators (e.g., waste reduction, solar usage, paperless operations).

4. Capacity Building & Quality Assurance

- Support orientation and capacity building of Vision Centre staff on clinical, operational, and sustainability practices.
- Conduct regular supervision visits and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to service quality benchmarks and patient satisfaction standards.

5. Community Engagement & Stakeholder Coordination

- Build and maintain relationships with local leaders, government health workers, and community groups.
- Promote community participation and create awareness on eye health and environmental responsibility.
- Represent the project at local meetings and support advocacy for sustainable eye care practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Graduate in any discipline (Master’s in Public Health / Social Work / Management preferred).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in community health, eye care programs, or outreach coordination.
- Experience with program supervision, reporting, and stakeholder management preferred.
- Exposure to sustainability or green health initiatives will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to plan, implement, and monitor field-level activities effectively.
- Data management and report-writing proficiency (MS Office, digital platforms).
- Commitment to community service, teamwork, and environmental responsibility.
- Willingness to travel frequently to Vision Centres and outreach locations.

Remuneration: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, as per Venu Charitable Society norms. Ie Rs 30,000/- ctc

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
