Job Description:

Job Title: Deputy Manager / Manager – Costing
Location: Bhopal (Head Office)
Department: Finance & Accounts – Group Costing

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the entire costing function of the SOM Distilleries Group, ensuring accurate product costing, variance analysis, cost control, and MIS reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage end-to-end costing activities for the entire SOM Group (multiple units, plants, and products).

- Prepare and monitor product-wise, plant-wise, and region-wise costing statements and profitability reports.

- Conduct variance analysis (standard vs. actual cost, budget vs. actual) and highlight deviations with actionable insights.

- Establish and monitor cost control mechanisms to optimize raw material, packaging, and overhead expenses.

- Support annual budget preparation and provide cost-related inputs for strategic planning.

- Coordinate with production, procurement, and finance teams for cost validation, inventory valuation, and reconciliation.





- Develop and implement standard costing systems, cost allocation methods, and internal controls across the group.

- Ensure timely preparation of MIS reports and present costing analysis to senior management for decision-making.

- Lead and guide a small team of costing executives/analysts for smooth functioning.

- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and accounting standards (IND-AS / Companies Act / Excise norms).

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Robust expertise in costing, MIS, and variance analysis.

- In-depth knowledge of standard costing systems, SAP/ERP (preferably SAP FICO/CO module).

- Analytical mindset with excellent presentation and reporting skills.

- Strong business acumen and ability to work cross-functionally.

- Leadership and team management skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Experience in group-level costing consolidation will be preferred.
