Purpose of the Role

Most feed and healthcare product decisions in this industry get made in tradition or a supplier's word, not on data collected from the pond itself. This role exists to change that at Loopworm — going out, running real field trials with fish and shrimp farmers, and using what actually happens on the ground to shape what the company builds next.

Reporting directly to the Founder and VP Sales, and with only one opening, this isn't a role buried in a large R&D; hierarchy — it's a high-visibility seat where your findings shape the product roadmap directly, and where you'll also be the technical voice the sales team leans on to make a credible case to customers.

What You'll Own

Field Trials & Data Collection

● Design and conduct rigorous on-site field trials for fish and shrimp to gather comprehensive performance and operational data — growth rates, feed conversion ratios, survival rates, and health outcomes under real pond conditions

● Select trial sites and farmer partners, define control and test groups, and set sample sizes and durations that will hold up to scrutiny

● Ensure trials are set up with sound experimental design so the resulting data can actually be trusted and acted on — not just observational anecdotes from a single pond

● Track trial progress in the field, catching and correcting issues (dosing errors, inconsistent feeding, environmental variables) before they compromise the data

● Maintain organized, audit-ready trial records and datasets that others in the company can reference later

Formulation & Product Development

● Analyze field trial data to design, develop, and optimize new aquaculture feed ingredients and healthcare product blends

● Turn findings into formulations that move Loopworm's product pipeline forward, not just incremental tweaks to existing blends

● Evaluate alternative and novel ingredients — including insect-based inputs like LoopMeal-for nutritional value, cost efficiency, and farmer-level performance





● Run bench-level iteration and small-batch testing before a formulation is committed to a larger field trial

● Document formulation rationale and trial evidence clearly enough that it can support regulatory, quality, or investor scrutiny if needed

Commercial & Sales Support

● Work closely with the sales and BD teams to translate technical field data into commercial narratives that make sense to a farmer or distributor

● Support customer-facing technical discussions directly when a deal needs scientific credibility to close

● Run training sessions and technical workshops for the sales team and clients to build product trust and credibility in the field

● Build straightforward, reusable technical materials (trial summaries, comparison sheets, FAQs) the sales team can use without needing you in every conversation

What We're Looking For

● Education: Ph.D. in Aquaculture or related field (mandatory) — this needs to be someone whose scientific grounding is deep enough to be trusted with formulation decisions, not just data collection

● Experience: Minimum 3 years hands-on in fish and shrimp nutrition — real pond and lab experience, not purely academic research

● Proven expertise running field trials, analyzing data, and developing feed ingredient or aquaculture healthcare formulations, with evidence of formulations that actually made it to farmers, not just to a paper

● A rigorous, evidence-first mindset — someone who trusts what the data says over what tradition or a supplier claims, and is comfortable being the person who says a popular assumption doesn't hold up

● Genuinely energized by field work,



not just tolerant of it — this role lives in ponds and farms as much as it does in analysis, and someone who prefers to stay deskbound will struggle here

● Comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratch — there's no existing formulation playbook to follow; this role is expected to define one

● Able to work independently with minimal oversight, while still keeping the Founders and VP Sales genuinely informed — this is a high-trust, high-visibility seat, not a role that thrives on being told what to do next

● A translator's instinct — equally comfortable in a rigorous scientific conversation and in a simple, credible pitch to a farmer or distributor

Skills & Competencies

● Experimental design and statistical analysis

● Deep working knowledge of aqua-nutrition and alternative ingredients, including evaluating novel inputs for real farm-level performance

● Ability to translate raw field data into formulations and clear commercial narratives, not just research findings

● Strong scientific documentation — records and rationale clean enough to hold up to regulatory, quality, or investor scrutiny

● Comfortable presenting technical findings to non-technical audiences, including farmers, distributors, and the sales team

● Trainer's instinct — able to run a workshop that actually builds the sales team's confidence, not just deliver a lecture

● Ready for extensive field travel across India; working proficiency in English required, additional regional languages a plus
