Role Overview The SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) Technology Engineer will be responsible for designing and building the MDG solution. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand master data management needs and improvements.

Working in a matrixed workplace, you will support all aspects of the design, development, training and delivery of easy-to-use data & process capabilities to Get Data Clean and Keep Data Clean.

You will cultivate an environment that generates innovative ideas, and you will execute them in partnership with internal business partners, data stewards, IT colleagues, and outside vendors. You will standardize key performance indicators, automate insight generation, and deliver relevant, meaningful recommendations.

The insights will provide better visibility to our asset and finance master data business processes and IT systems landscape, as well as identifying root causes to improve data quality and process resiliency.

What will you do in this role

- Assist in the implementation and support of SAP MDG solutions, including design, configuration and testing.
- Provide functional expertise and participate in design activities and a gap analysis prior to the implementation.
- Responsible for finishing the tasks assigned and for interacting with business users/functional leads for requirement gathering and providing timely updates on progress made.
- Visualize the master data quality and analyzing results, using statistical techniques where possible/needed.




- Collaborate with business, platform, data enablement, and IT teams to standardize SAP MDG solution and cross-train teams to use them.

Your Daily Activities include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the delivery of aligned, compliant SAP MDG solutions under guidance of senior team members.
- Complete assigned tasks with quality and timeliness.
- Support data analysis activities to identify trends and data quality issues.
- Learn and apply analytical approaches to improve data-driven decision-making.
- Build working relationships with stakeholders and team members across functions.
- Engage in cross-functional teamwork and knowledge sharing.
- Assist in adoption efforts for new tools and processes.
- Support documentation and communication of process changes.
- Ensure solutions adhere to defined IT standards and support global business processes.
- Contribute to a collaborative team workplace that values diverse perspectives.

What should you have

- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years in an SAP MDG Functional Role.
- SAP MDG Expertise: Solid hands-on experience in SAP MDG-M (Material Master) with at least one end-to-end implementation.
- S/4HANA Knowledge: Strong understanding of SAP MDG on S/4HANA, including master data setup and governance processes.
- Integration Capabilities: Experience in inbound and outbound integrations using IDOCs, SOA services, and interfaces.
- Data Modeling & UI: Ability to contribute to custom data model design and UI enhancements in SAP MDG.
- Workflow & Rules Framework: Working knowledge of SAP Workflow, BRF+, and BADIs for implementing business rules and approvals.
- Data Governance & Quality: Experience in data replication techniques, validations, derivations, and MDG error handling.
- Functional Understanding: Good understanding of Materials Management (MM) processes and their integration with master data.
- System Configuration Awareness: Familiarity with master data configuration in S/4HANA and MDG systems.
- Problem Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve MDG data, workflow, and integration issues effectively.

- Business Process Awareness: Good understanding of end-to-end master data lifecycle and its impact on business processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Effective communication and coordination with business users, functional teams, and technical teams.
- Learning Agility: Demonstrates willingness to learn and adapt to evolving MDG capabilities and S/4HANA enhancements.




- Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication, with ability to document requirements and solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Strong team player mindset, contributing to shared goals and knowledge sharing.
- Attention to Detail: Focus on data quality, accuracy, and governance standards.
- Basic Project Exposure: Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery models and participation in project lifecycle activities.
