Key Responsibilities

Procurement &
Sourcing
Manage procurement of direct materials for Wiring Harness assemblies, including connectors, contacts, cables, wires, terminals, backshells, sleeving, heat shrink, tapes, and related accessories.
Execute RFQs, negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and lead times with approved suppliers.
Convert approved sourcing strategies into purchase orders aligned with production schedules.

Supplier Management
Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure delivery performance, quality, and cost competitiveness.
Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams for supplier qualification, development, and issue resolution.
Support alternate sourcing and risk-mitigation initiatives for critical components.

Planning &
Execution
Work closely with Production Planning, Stores, and Manufacturing teams to ensure material availability.
Track open POs, follow up on deliveries, manage shortages, and expedite critical requirements.
Support inventory optimization while balancing production continuity.

Cost &
Compliance
Drive cost-reduction initiatives through negotiation, localization, VA/VE, and long-term agreements.
Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies,



customer requirements, and industry standards (Aerospace/Defence where applicable).
Maintain accurate procurement documentation and MIS reports.

Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Program teams during NPI / proto builds for wiring harness programs.
Support audits, customer visits, and internal reviews related to procurement activities.

Candidate Profile

Education
Bachelors degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Operations / Commerce or related discipline.

Experience
7–12 years of experience in direct material procurement.
Mandatory experience in Wiring Harness components or closely related electromechanical parts.
Experience in manufacturing settings; aerospace/defence exposure is preferred.

Skills &
Competencies
Robust understanding of wiring harness BOMs and component specifications.
Commercial acumen with proven negotiation skills.
Ability to work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams.
Positive knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and MS Excel.
High ownership, execution focus, and stakeholder management capability.
