Job Role: Software Development Test Engineer (SDET)

Experience: 7+ years

Location: Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai

Responsibilities:

- Design comprehensive test strategies, create new test plans from existing templates, cases, scenarios, and scripts, both manual and automated, which exercise software systems under test, and provide detailed coverage of the product.
- Build and maintain scalable automation across integration, UI, and regression layers.
- Assess the flow of code and its interaction with various processes, identifying areas of improvement in existing code, debug applications and services, and perform root cause analysis of errors.
- Ensure test automation is integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineers and QA to identify risk areas and improve test coverage.
- Use AI to improve test coverage, prioritize testing, and detect systemic quality issues.
- Report test preparation activities, test execution, adherence to test schedule as published in the test plan, defect information, and other data significant to test progress.
- Develop and maintain test artifacts using a test management application.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline required, or equivalent work experience.




- Typically requires 7+ years of related experience in software development or test automation.
- Experience with test frameworks, CI/CD, and automation tools required.
- Working experience with programming and scripting languages such as C#, Python or JavaScript/Typescript and software development/QA in a Windows workplace preferred.
- Proficiency with test frameworks such as Nunit, MSTest, Xunit, jest, puppeteer, mocha, pytest, unittest, Specflow, Selenium, or Gherkin required.
- Ability to interpret and validate complex system behaviors preferred.
- Exposure to AI/ML-assisted testing tools or analytics approaches preferred.
- Experience using git, including performing code reviews, pull requests, and following branching standards such as Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development required.
- Familiar with relational database structures, and ability to understand and write SQL queries required.
- Demonstrated experience in unit testing, integration testing and performance testing.
- Knowledge in manual and automated test methodologies and test case management tools (I.E.

Azure

DevOps Services, TestRail, or Jira) preferred.

- Proficient verbal and written communication skills required.
- Business / Banking testing experience is preferred.
