ITI Fitter in production and assembly builds, fits, and aligns mechanical parts on a factory floor. They read blueprints, use hand and power tools, operate precision measuring instruments, and ensure assembled machinery meets strict quality and safety standards.
Role Overview and Core ResponsibilitiesAssembly Operations
Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and blueprints.
Fit, align, and join mechanical parts like shafts, bearings, gears, and couplings.
Perform drilling, tapping, reaming, and grinding to adjust component dimensions.
Fasten parts securely using correct torque specifications.
Production & Quality Control
Inspect raw materials and finished sub-assemblies using vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges.
Identify and fix assembly defects or component misalignments on the line.
Conduct functional testing of assembled units to verify performance.
Keep daily production records and fill out inspection check sheets.
Safety and Workplace Maintenance
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and lean manufacturing guidelines.
Maintain safety rules, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and practice 5S workplace organization.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on assembly tools and fixtures.
Key Requirements & Skills
Education: Pass in ITI (Industrial Training Institute) in the Fitter trade.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting, blueprint reading, and use of precision measuring tools.
Experience: 0 to 3 years in a manufacturing or assembly plant workplace (freshers often start as trainees/apprentices).
Soft Skills: Valuable hand-eye coordination, physical stamina, problem-solving mindset, and teamwork.
Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
