A Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing cleanliness, staff performance, and overall housekeeping operations—commonly in hotels, resorts, hospitals, and other facilities.

Here are the main duties and responsibilities:
Staff Supervision & Management
Supervise housekeeping attendants, room attendants, and public area cleaners
Assign daily cleaning schedules and room assignments
Train current employees on cleaning procedures and safety standards
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback
Handle staff scheduling, attendance, and discipline when needed
Inspection & Quality Control
Inspect guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas for cleanliness and standards
Ensure rooms meet company or brand standards before guest check-in
Conduct regular spot checks and deep-clean inspections
Address and resolve cleanliness complaints quickly
Inventory & Supplies Management
Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities
Prepare inventory reports
Coordinate with purchasing department for reordering supplies
Ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals and equipment




Guest Service & Communication
Respond to guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping
Coordinate with front office for room status updates (vacant, occupied, out-of-order)
Work closely with maintenance for repair requests
Ensure VIP rooms and special requests are handled properly
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Train staff on proper chemical use and workplace safety
Maintain MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets)
Ensure lost & found procedures are followed
Reporting & Administration
Prepare daily housekeeping reports
Update room status in the system
Maintain attendance and payroll records
Assist the Executive Housekeeper in budgeting and planning
